[ARCHIVED] Lafayette Police Department on Facebook

Like us on Facebook

As Facebook is one of the most dominate players in the social media market today, we've opened a Facebook page as another tool to keep you safe and informed! We will use the site to push out emergency safety alerts, alerts reference major incidents and criime patterns, crime prevention tips, traffic updates and information about our events and programs. We may also use the site to ask you to help us identify a criminal by sharing video or surveillance. Joining Facebook will give us another resource to reach more people and interact more with our community.

We hope to also receive your feedback through Facebook! Without your comments, both positive and negative, we cannot accurately evaluate how the community feels about our performance. Our policy however, to investigate department or officer complaints will remain the same and require personal contact with department Internal Affairs investigators. We will not use Facebook to engage in any conversation about department misconduct. Let us know how we're doing though and how you feel about our service!

Our Facebook page will be monitored intermittently during normal business hours, therefore please do not expect responses in real time via this platform. If you need police assistance, please continue to contact us through dispatch (911 for emergencies or 303-441-4444 for non emergencies). We're excited to be on Facebook now and hope it helps us better connect with you!
