AOTS See and Respond

This program is not limited to local artists; finalists will be accepted from a nationwide pool of artists. This unique program is made possible through a generous $10,000 grant from Colorado Creative Industries, and additional funding from the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, Public Art Committee, and the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District.

The See & Respond Art Show and Art on the Street Meet the Artists Reception, featuring the Art on the Street Sculptures and the works they inspired, will be held in Lafayette Public Library August 2, 6:30 – 9 pm. Cash prizes will be awarded for poetry and 2-D work in multiple age categories: Adult (19 and older) $150; Teen (13 – 18) $100; Children (6 – 12) $50. Poetry and 2-D art will be judged by teams professional poets and artists. The Art on the Street, Jean Mellblom People’s Choice Award of $1000 will be announced. Voting for the Jean Mellblom Award will at various location in Lafayette, including at Art Night Out on June 21 and July 19.

Entries for See & Respond are due July 10, 2013; all artwork is due for installation on August 1.
