Stairs to Anywhere by Jodie Bliss

Fabricated steel shirt stairway leading up to decorative door

Artist Statement

My sculpture, Stairs to Anywhere, presents a curious display of magic and mystery. Here is an intricate passageway that inspires the viewer to use their imagination and ask, “If this door could open anywhere, where would it lead?” Would it be a place of dreams, personal growth, or real-life adventure?

I am the owner of Bliss Studio Custom Metalwork in Monument, Colorado, and am a practicing artist, blacksmith, and metal fabricator. I have been working in metal for 20 years and create everything from custom architectural ironworks, to private and fine art commissions, to large-scale public sculptures for municipalities. I primarily use mild sheet steel and glass in my sculptures. My work carries a broad spectrum of styles, including both figurative and abstract. I find inspiration in helping others communicate their own creative vision, which has brought extensive experience and collaborative opportunities along the Front Range and beyond.
