Lafayette Open Space is working with Mile High Flood Control District to address severe erosion along Coal Creek, just west of Public Road Trailhead. Beginning on Nov. 14, construction crews will be on-site to stabilize the bankside and realign a small section of the trail that has been affected by encroaching erosion and poses safety concerns to trail users. The trail will remain open throughout the duration of the project, but heavy machinery and construction crews will be on-site daily. Please be aware of your surroundings and slow down near the construction site. The projected end date of this bank repair and trail realignment is February 2024, weather permitting. See the map below for the general area of the project site.
