Fortunately folks looking for trail outlets won't have to travel far to get in their physical activity needs. Lafayette is host to several trail systems that are available to the public for use. While they may be better known by their nearby neighbors, these trails will certainly fill-in for the Coal Creek and Rock Creek regional trails that are closed until further notice due to safety and public health conditions.
See below for a short list of some soft-surface trails that you might find useful.
* Rothman Open Space - 2.7 miles; trailhead access at the eastern end of Lucern Drive or City Park Complex (behind Lafayette Skatepark); this system connects to additional trail miles on Kneebone Open Space which has a 1 mile loop and toward the Great Bark Dog Park
* Waneka Lake Park - 1.3 mile loop; various access points off Caria Drive; this network links to additional trail miles on Waneka Landing Open Space and Powerline Trail
*Powerline Trail - 0.8 mile trail; various access points off Caria Drive; this trail connects to Waneka Lake Park, Hecla Lake in Louisville, and Angevine Middle School
