Celebrate Go Red For Women

Go Red For Women is the American' Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. Join the BBRC for a month of FREE events to educate our community on steps they can take for better heart health!

This coming National Wear Red Day, February 2, will mark 15 years since the initial National Wear Red Day, which was first observed to bring national attention to the fact that heart disease is the #1 killer of women, and to raise awareness of women’s heart health. 

FREE Workshops Presented by Boulder Community Health:

  • Recognizing and Treating Stroke // February 6  7-8PM 
    Lionsgate Event Center, 1055 South 112th Street (Hwy. 287)
    Come hear BCH Neurologist Alan Zacharias, MD, describe the signs of stroke in women, as well as their unique risk factors. Then learn about the newest treatment options.
  • Battling Heart Disease In Women // February 13  7-8PM
    Lionsgate Event Center, 1055 South 112th Street (Hwy. 287)

    Cardiologist Molly Ware, MD, will describe the latest approaches for preventing heart disease in women and screening for early detection.

Wilson Community Gardens 

Reservations begin February 5th, 2018 for Lafayette Residents and February 19, 2018 for Non-Residents. 

Application forms can be dropped off at the Recreation Center, at 111 W. Baseline Road, along with payment anytime after these dates. Registration and payment can also be completed 100% online. Plots are limited; two plots per gardener. Growing season is April through November. JumpBunch Session begins February 19

Come see what being fit and having fun is all about! JumpBunch is an innovative kid's sports and fitness program designed to keep children moving and thinking!

Sessions are designed for Parent-Tot (15-36 months), Preschoolers (3-6 years) and participants ages 6-12 and will enhance your child's physical fitness as well as cognitive development. Do you want the coolest summer job? Do you want to work at the brand new Great Outdoors Waterpark? Register for training to join the young, fun and respected team of Lafayette Lifeguards and have an awesome Summer 2018!

American Red Cross Trainings
start March 30 at the BBRC. The weekend long training will give you everything you need to know to become a certified Lifeguard!  

Preschool Enrollment

2018-2019 Preschool registration will open March 27 for New Resident families. New Nonresident families can register starting April 7.

You CANNOT Register for Preschool online. BASE Registration

It's not too early to think about 2018 School Year. If you need an after school option for your grade school aged children, BASE provides a safe, supportive, and structured environment that supports overall health and well-being. The program runs in accordance with the BVSD school calendar. Registration requests for new families begins June 4.   • AARP Elderwatch: Current Top 5 Scams in Colorado presentation is on February 13. This presentation will review the top scams Coloradans are reporting and provides the important opportunity to have a conversation about fraud and hot to protect yourself. Feel free to bring a sack lunch. Registration is required.

  • Valentines Day party on February 14. Enjoy a little Valentine's Day romance while we dance to various generation of music. Registration deadline is February 9.

  • Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters workshop on February 15If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it's time to learn the facts. This interactive workshop features video clips of people with Alzheimer's disease as a way to highlight the challenges they face every day. Registration is required.
