Effective Tuesday, Jan. 18, the Senior Center was closed to drop-in visits until further notice; however certain services will continue to be offered by reservation or appointment only. The following qualify as an appointment or reservation: - Activity or program registration

- Registered trips
There is no change if you are a part of these roster-based activities: Crafters for Charity, Lap Robers, Memory Games, Card games, Whatever Group, and Educational DVDs. Random Acts of Kindness WeekFeb. 14-18 A moment of kindness can make someone’s day. We encourage you to put kindness first and share it everywhere you go this week! The Senior Center would like to help brighten your day and the days of others by celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week, We will have materials to support acts of kindness with many ideas for all those using the center this week. - Monday: Send someone a card
- Tuesday: Be a kid and have fun coloring!
- Wednesday: Share a recipe. Send your favorite recipe to a grandchild, friend, or neighbor who might enjoy it.
- Thursday: Share a book or a book recommendation
- Friday: Call a friend, old or new, and take some time to connect

Bowling The Lafayette Silver Strikers meet at the Coal Creek Bowling Center on Tuesdays and Fridays at 12:45pm. No need to register; drop in when you can. There is no commitment. $8.00 per bowler for three games and shoe rental if needed.

Card Program Have you heard about the Senior Card program? It has been in existence for many years and quietly engages seniors in our community. It provides outreach to seniors in the Lafayette community. We send cards to seniors for celebrations, sorrows, or just to let someone know that people are thinking about them. We hope receiving a card brightens the day and brings a smile to someone's face.

Let's Brew TogetherThe more time Americans spend socially with family and friends, the more likely they are to report enjoyment and happiness in their lives without a lot of stress and worry. Overall, Americans’ self-reported mood improves with each hour of social time they spend in a day, up to about seven hours. Let’s boost each other’s moods and spend some time together! Ukulele LessonsEveryone will realize they can be a ukulele player in this beginning ukulele class. This class will provide students with instant access to making music and having fun. Medical Foot CareMedical Foot Care is provided by the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) and is offered on the third Wednesday of every month. Services include toenail trimming, callus filing, overall foot health check, and blood pressure checks. The VNA handles all scheduling and payments.
Location: The Lafayette Senior Center, 103 S. Iowa Ave. Medical foot care may be a benefit of your Kaiser plan. Credit cards are preferred, but checks are accepted.

Ortho Bionomy® BodyworkOrtho-Bionomy® is a therapeutic technique that relieves pain by helping the body rediscover its natural balance. Tai Chi 1 Tai Chi is a series of easy and gentle exercise movements performed in a slow, focused manner accompanied by deep breathing. Tai Chi develops body awareness to increase balance, promote activity, and improve health and mobility, encouraging independence and fuller lives. Tai Chi is safe for all ages and fitness levels. Tai Chi FormTai Chi Form covers the first third of the form with a sort section of meditation and warm-up. This class is open to anyone, and any experience level is welcome; however, previous experience is recommended for the best experience. Have fun moving to music performing exercises focused on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement for daily life activities. Participants can use handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball for additional resistance. Often a chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. If you want to improve your balance and strength, this class is for you! Movements taught in class focus on improving strength and power in the ankle, knee, and hip joints while improving reaction time. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level. AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program at the Lafayette Public LibraryThe program provides tax preparation assistance to low-to-moderate-income taxpayers, with particular attention paid to individuals who are 50 or older. The Tax-Aide program generally consists of two visits. An initial short visit to scan taxpayer documents and a second brief visit one week later to review the prepared return, receive a paper copy, and sign forms permitting the return to be filed electronically. Coal Creek Café and Meals on Wheels ProgramsCould you or someone you know benefit from Coal Creek Meals on Wheels (CCMOW)? CCMOW offers the following programs to provide community members with daily, hot, nutritious meals and related support services:
Meal Delivery Program mobilizes volunteers to deliver delicious made-from-scratch meals to clients Monday-Friday, plus two frozen meals for the weekend. Coal Creek Café (located at the Josephine Commons Housing Development) serves meals Monday-Friday from 11:30 to 12:30pm. This program creates opportunities for guests to socialize with friends and neighbors while enjoying our delicious daily offerings. Plates for Pets clients receive a supply of pet food (for their cats, dogs, fish, birds, and rodents) along with their meal delivery on the last Monday of each month. Project Homecoming clients receive five free home-delivered meals after returning from a hospital stay regardless of their age and income. Smart911 Saves Time and Lives!Smart911 is a service that allows you to create a free Safety Profile for your household to include any information you want first responders and 9-1-1 to have in the event of an emergency. Colorado Low-income Energy AssistanceThe Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible hard-working Colorado families, seniors, and individuals pay a portion of their winter home heating costs. LEAP's goal is to help bring warmth, comfort, and safety to your home and family by assisting with heating costs. Applications accepted from Nov.1 to April 30. Ride Free LafayetteFree, on-demand, door-to-door bus service that connects you to places within the City of Lafayette. Mobility for All is collaborating with community partners throughout Boulder County to offer transportation-related technology workshops to help community members of all ages and abilities feel more comfortable using transportation apps such as Google Maps, Transit App, Lyft, Uber, and RTD Mobile Tickets. Cultivate's Carry-out CaravanThis program connects members of the community with older adults who face the challenge of securing reliable access to groceries. Friendly volunteers provide caring assistance throughout the entire process of ordering, purchasing, and delivering groceries from their partner, King Soopers, straight to older adults' homes. Clients are responsible for paying for their groceries with a credit or debit card, but volunteer-powered shopping and delivery is completely free. Alzheimer's Association - Dementia Caregiver Support Groups - VirtualSupport groups are for family or friends who have a loved one with any kind of dementia. Groups are facilitated by the Alzheimer's Associations' screened, trained, and supervised volunteers.
