Light snacks and live music performance.  
This vibrant annual exhibit features the paintings of José Mares and Jamie Chihuan, garment designs by Lilian Lara, and cigar box ofrendas by students of Centaurus High School. Guests are welcome to write notes to pin to the Community Ofrenda, in honor of lost loved ones.

Aislyn Keyes, PhD candidate in Marine Biology from CU Boulder, will lead us in a project bringing together marine scientists, community members, and yarn artists. In the process of co-creating an interactive, yarn diorama, community members and artists of all ages will learn about the coastal communities of plants, animals, and people, as well as some of the challenges coastal communities face. By weaving together our yarn, our stories, and our experiences to create a visual of a complex system, we will be reminded of how each of us are connected to each other and the natural world, and that our actions can have ripple effects. Community Crochet website

En el proceso de creación conjunta de un diorama de hilo interactivo, los miembros de la comunidad y los artistas de todas las edades aprenderán sobre las comunidades costeras de plantas, animales y personas, así como algunos de los desafíos que enfrentan las comunidades costeras. We Are Also You Avatar Project (WAAYAP)

The WAAYAP invites members of the community of all ages to create an avatar, or a visual representation of invisible aspects of ourselves. If you choose to create your work at the Library, you will have access to colored pencils, markers, pens, and decorative colored papers to use onsite or take home (while supplies last!). Space Moon is an exploration of implied kinetics. The steel shapes intertwine as though it may roll off down the street. The colors are finished in a highly durable powder coat and dance with striking energy. It appears to be an electric light to the viewer’s eye. The form is to reflect life as a celebration in a whimsical dance with the viewer and nature.
