Large Slide Closed, Lazy River Current Off for Maintenance Sept. 27 - Oct. 21

Our Lazy River and Large Slide are getting their pumps refreshed to provide a better experience for you. The pumps will be removed, restored, and replaced over 3-4 weeks. During this time, the Lazy River will be open and available for swimming, but there will be no current pushing the water. The Large Slide will be closed.

All other pools will be open and available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our aquatic classes teach children to float, put their face in the water independently, breath underwater, move forward in the water, improve strokes, and develop a high comfort level in the water. 

Parents must be present for some classes. Other requisites apply.

Fall Adult Basketball League

Are you looking for a fun, energetic adult basketball league for teams that like to play in recreational settings? If so, this is the league for your team! 

The season will include a total of eight games that will be played in the evenings at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center.

Kids Racquetball Program

Youth Racquetball Classes

All levels will enjoy these small group lessons that take players through the high-speed world of racquetball. Build skills and stamina, and learn the rules of the game while enjoying some light competition.

Each participant must supply eye protection and a racquet. There is a minimum of two and a maximum of four players per group.

Youth Futsal Clinic

Youth Indoor Futsal Clinic

A jam-packed crash course in soccer fundamentals with Pancho Hansen kicks off this Indoor Soccer adventure. Futsal is played with smaller teams at a faster pace and is a great way to stay sharp and improve skills.

Skate-boarding Programs

Fall Skateboarding Programs

Learn how to be safe while having fun on your skateboard! We welcome skaters of all skill levels and will work on everything from learning how to stand and roll on your skateboard to challenging yourself by learning tricks. Build up to advanced park riding as we explore all the different features of the amazing Lafayette Skatepark. 

Equipment or supplies needed: Please bring a skateboard, helmet (other pads recommended), water bottle, sunscreen, and snacks.

Ukulele Lessons - Beginner

You CAN play the ukulele! In this beginning class, you will be having fun and playing music before you know it. We will focus on strumming and rhythms, reading tabs, improvising, and beginning songwriting. We will have fun singing familiar songs and learning basic chords.

Please bring a ukulele to class.

School's Out Day Camp

Register your kiddo for a school's out day of fun at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. Your child will participate in engaging activities throughout the day including swimming, crafts, active games, team building, and more!

High School Strength and Conditioning

This class is for high school athletes looking to improve their skills and prepare themselves for the upcoming season in various sports.

Integrating free weights, machines, and functional fitness, we'll focus on speed and power, agility and coordination, and stretching to help prevent injury. 

Mature 12-13 year-olds welcome if assessed by instructor

High Intensity Interval Training

High Intensity Interval Training

HIIT, or High-Intensity Interval Training, is a training technique that combines all-out quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods.

HIIT improves aerobic and anaerobic fitness, blood pressure, cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, and cholesterol. It reduces abdominal fat and lowers body weight while maintaining muscle mass.

This class is not recommended for beginner-level exercisers.

Feeling Out of Place in the Weight Room?

Do you want to start using the weight room equipment but aren't sure how? Sign up for an orientation to proper weight room etiquette, how to use the Cybex Machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment.

For the price of admission, a certified personal trainer will provide a weight training orientation to anyone 12 years or older, including SilverSneakers and RenewActive members.

Puppies and Pilates

Join RezDawg Rescue and the City of Lafayette in a fun and playful Pilates Mat class while interacting with puppies and raising money for their local dog rescue.

8 Weeks to the Oatmeal 5K

8 Weeks to Oatmeal 5K

We are calling all beginner/casual runners ready to commit to 8-weeks of training for the Oatmeal 5K on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, in Lafayette.

You will train twice weekly on Tuesdays at 5pm, and Sundays at 10am. Tuesdays will focus on strength and flexibility for runners in the BBRC fitness atrium.
Sundays will include run/walk intervals, hill training, and tempo runs with the goal of building endurance to complete 3.1 miles.

*Race registration is not included and must be purchased separately by each participant.

Lafayette Birds! 

We invite beginning birders (families and adults) to experience the fun of birdwatching at this ongoing and fun opportunity on the first Sunday of each month. View ducks, herons, other water birds, and a variety of songbirds at the Greenlee Wildlife Preserve in Lake Waneka Park.

Meet at The Shack, located on the north side of Waneka Lake Park. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Canada Geese are Cackling! 

The Cackling Goose, formerly considered a subspecies of the Canada Goose is the most numerous goose in Colorado. But Canada Geese live here all year long and a number of other geese migrate through or winter here.
