In January of 2018, Public Works launched the Public Road Strategic Corridor Plan which included assembling the Friends of Public Road Working Group (FPRWG) and hiring a planning and engineering consultant. The FPRWG, which is comprised of 17 residents and local business owners, met with the consultant from February 2018 through June 2018 to provide input and guidance on a strategic plan for Public Road.
In July 2018, a public open house was held at the library and an online survey was sent out afterwards to gather input on the ideas prepared by the FPRWG. The consultant and members of the FPRWG presented and testified at City Council meetings in August 2018 and October 2018. City Council approved implementation of the plan, project monitoring, and a community feedback survey in 2019.
