1. To set up services, please first establish a City of Lafayette utility account by calling the Finance Department at 303-665-5588 and selecting option 1. Services include water, garbage, recycling, and compost.
2. Once your utility billing account is set up, please contact Republic Services at 303-286-2400 the following business day to choose your cart sizes, set your cart delivery date, and receive information about collection services.

No. As of April 1, 2023, compostable bags, plates, utensils and other paper materials cannot be placed in compost bins.
Only two types of items are allowed in your curbside compost cart:
Residents that utilize 3-gallon compostable bags to collect food scraps may continue to do so, but only 3-gallon (or smaller), approved compostable bags are allowed. If you do not use 3-gallon compostable bags, all items must be placed unbagged and loose in your compost cart. View A1 Organic's list of acceptable compostable bags.

Lafayette residents, with proof of residency, can drop off items at the Hazardous Materials Management Facility free of charge.
