3. Lafayette City Council enacted a permanent water conservation ordinance (Sec. 120-13) into the City's Municipal Code on Nov. 6, 2013, putting in place watering restrictions to protect the City’s water resources.

24. The City’s priority is to help residents understand the importance of conserving water and when violations have occurred - not to issue fines. When violations are reported, our enforcement process will focus first on customer education. Violators will be contacted in a timely manner and provided an opportunity to respond.
