December 5, 2020, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Great Park - Indigenous Peoples Land Acknowledgement Site.
These days there is growing awareness that it is important for diverse parts of our community to connect. This outdoor gathering is an opportunity to connect the generations. The Lafayette Senior Advisory Board (SAB) and the Lafayette Open Space Advisory Committee (LOSAC) are teaming up to sponsor this informal, outdoor discussion.
Canadian biologist, David Susuki's book "Wisdom of the Elders" explores the cultural wisdom of indigenous people around the world that allowed them to survive and thrive in the places they live. This event takes place at the Indigenous Peoples Land Acknowledgement Site located within Lafayette's Great Park, a parcel of land that was "acknowledged for public use to observe, reflect, learn, and show honor and respect for the many peoples who have lived, worked, or passed through the City’s lands throughout history.” Space is limited and an RSVP is required. Please contact Martin Ogle at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot.
