Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency

On Aug. 3, City Administrator Fritz Sprague enacted a Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency in response to a Cyberattack that caused an outage of City computer infrastructure. The Declaration allows for outside assistance from the State, neighboring jurisdictions, and private contractors with the necessary technological expertise to aid the City of Lafayette in its response and recovery due to the severity and magnitude of the cyberattack.

The Declaration was extended by City Council on Aug. 4.
